Position: House Supervisor - PRN / Day Shift

Hospital nursing leadership position. House Supervisor coordinating patient care, overseeing nursing staff, ensuring compliance, acting as resource in units. Open for Day or Night shifts. Location Rowlett, TX. Salary $54k-$100k.

Job Summary

Responsible for management and coordination of patient care within the hospital. Implements nursing process, assigns and supervises unit team, collaborates with physicians. Functions as resource in units. Supervises nursing and ancillary support personnel during designated shifts. Non‑exempt.

Qualifications
  • Registered Nurse licensure
  • Minimum 5 years acute care hospital experience
  • House supervisory or charge nurse experience required
  • Critical care experience preferred
  • BLS, ACLS, PALS
Responsibilities
  • Monitors and maintains unit compliance with regulatory, accrediting and hospital policy.
  • Maintains current license and knowledge of nursing care requirements, fosters growth opportunities.
  • Fosters service consistent with patient care beliefs and shared management philosophy.
  • Consults with patients/families through primary nurse request, direct family request, or direct assessment.
  • Effectively communicates departmental, organization, and industry information to staff.
  • Demonstrates respect and regard for dignity of all patients, families, visitors, employees.
  • Provides leadership, direction, mentorship, support to patient care team; point of contact for transfers and admissions.
  • Demonstrates expert clinical competency as a resource and competency validator.
  • Ensures appropriate staffing levels to provide safe patient care.
  • Assists in effective distribution and utilization of personnel; emphasizes staffing for nursing areas.
  • Manages resolution of issues during shift; executes decisions; contacts Administrator on Call; coordinates with Chief Nursing Officer.
  • Evaluates issues, identifies trends; communicates to hospital leadership; collaborates on problem solving.
  • Leader of hospital safety plan; coordinates response to incidents including injuries.
  • Monitors and evaluates clinical standards within hospital.
  • Provides clinical support for Emergency Department, Inpatient, ICU as needed.
  • Ensures age and culturally appropriate care is given.
  • Follows Standard Precautions using PPE as required.
Physical Demands & Work Environment

Physical demands include sit, converse, use hands, reach; lift and carry 20 lbs, push/pull 25 lbs; stand or walk at least five hours per day. Work environment: sit, converse, use hands, etc. Reasonable accommodations may be made.
