Diesel Mechanic Technician

We are hiring a Permanent Full‑Time, Mid‑Level Diesel Mechanic Technician to support our truck fleet in McKinney, Texas. This role requires experience in heavy‑duty vehicle maintenance and repair.

Immediately hiring a Experienced Mid‑Level Diesel Technician to support our Truck Fleet at Ryder in McKinney, Texas.

• Hourly Pay: $25.92 per hour
• Certification Bonus of $100 for each new ASE Certification obtained, up to $700
• Quarterly Bonus: up to $500 every quarter – four times per year
• Schedule:
  
  Monday–Friday, Weekends OFF
• Hours:
  
  First Shift 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Vocational or Technical Certification / post‑secondary degree or technical certifications preferred
• Basic tools required
• Demonstrated aptitude and experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including routine preventative maintenance (oil changes, brake and tire work)
• Two (2) years or more of a combination of classroom training and work experience in required areas
• Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A, preferred
• Must be able to obtain a CDL within 6 months of hire
• Pass a Ryder Drug Test
• Pass a DOT physical
• Pass a Ryder road test
• Pass a Ryder background and motor‑vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from prior employers for the last 3 years

• Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties
• Perform standard vehicle maintenance
• Perform standard component inspections and repairs
• Perform preventive maintenance
• Diagnose standard mechanical and electronic problems, utilizing diagnostic computer when applicable
• Identify root cause of basic failures/conditions and perform repairs as required
• Replace defective components as instructed
• Perform facility maintenance duties
• Interact with customers/drivers to determine nature of complaint once assigned a task
• Utilize key functions of Shop Management System and electronic documentation available
• Work in accordance with all federal/provincial and corporate compliance guidelines (i.e., safety, DOT, MOT)
• Perform other support duties as required to support operations (e.g., Service Island support)
