We are hiring a Permanent Full‑Time, Mid‑Level Diesel Mechanic Technician to support our truck fleet in McKinney, Texas. This role requires experience in heavy‑duty vehicle maintenance and repair.
Position DescriptionImmediately hiring a Experienced Mid‑Level Diesel Technician to support our Truck Fleet at Ryder in McKinney, Texas.
Benefits- Hourly Pay: $25.92 per hour
- Certification Bonus of $100 for each new ASE Certification obtained, up to $700
- Quarterly Bonus: up to $500 every quarter – four times per year
- Schedule:
Monday–Friday, Weekends OFF - Hours:
First Shift 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. - Annual Merit Pay Increases Every Year

- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Vocational or Technical Certification / post‑secondary degree or technical certifications preferred
- Basic tools required
- Demonstrated aptitude and experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including routine preventative maintenance (oil changes, brake and tire work)
- Two (2) years or more of a combination of classroom training and work experience in required areas
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A, preferred
- Must be able to obtain a CDL within 6 months of hire
- Pass a Ryder Drug Test
- Pass a DOT physical
- Pass a Ryder road test
- Pass a Ryder background and motor‑vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from prior employers for the last 3 years
- Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties
- Perform standard vehicle maintenance
- Perform standard component inspections and repairs
- Perform preventive maintenance
- Diagnose standard mechanical and electronic problems, utilizing diagnostic computer when applicable
- Identify root cause of basic failures/conditions and perform repairs as required
- Replace defective components as instructed
- Perform facility maintenance duties
- Interact with customers/drivers to determine nature of complaint once assigned a task
- Utilize key functions of Shop Management System and electronic documentation available
- Work in accordance with all federal/provincial and corporate compliance guidelines (i.e., safety, DOT, MOT)
- Perform other support duties as required to support operations (e.g., Service Island support)
