Raytheon, part of the RTX Advanced Products & Solutions group, is seeking a Software Engineer II – Embedded to join our Electro‑Optical & Infrared (EO/IR) Solutions Engineering Team in McKinney, TX. The role involves designing, developing, and testing software for real‑time embedded systems that support advanced radar, sensor, and ISR platforms.

• Support all phases of the software development life cycle, from concept and requirements through design, development, integration, testing, and maintenance.
• Develop, test, and integrate real‑time software applications written in C++ (or closely related languages).
• Use scripting languages such as Shell, Perl, or Python for automation and tooling.
• Collaborate closely with Systems Engineers to design solutions that meet end‑user and operational needs.
• Tackle complex technical and integration challenges with creative problem‑solving.
• Occasional business‑related travel.

• STEM degree with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
• Experience developing, testing, and integrating real‑time software.
• Proficiency in C++ and scripting languages (Shell/Perl/Python).
• Active, transferable DoD Secret clearance and U.S. citizenship.

• Experience on Linux, VxWorks, or other real‑time operating systems.
• Hands‑on lab experience with hardware test benches and simulators.
• Strong understanding of complex systems and legacy codebases.
• Agile/Scrum development experience.
• Dev Sec Ops  pipeline implementation (static analysis, CI/CD, test‑driven development).
• Version control with Git and Git Lab repository management.
