Truck Driver

Job Description

Collin County is seeking candidates for the position of Truck Driver (CDL). This position transports equipment and/or materials within Collin County supporting the Public Works department. Currently, drivers work Monday through Friday from 7:00am – 3:30pm with Saturday and Sunday off.

• Truck Drivers with Collin County’s Public Works department transport building materials and equipment to various locations within the County.
• Operate light equipment by driving rollers, backhoes, loaders, and other equipment used in the construction and maintenance of roads.
• Maintain County vehicles and equipment by inspecting safety fluid levels, filling fuel levels, ensuring the proper operation of electrical systems, monitoring tire pressure and tread wear, and cleaning debris from inner and outer surfaces.
• Maintain shop area, install and maintain culverts, remove trees and shrubs, and control traffic while on site.
• Perform other related duties as required.

• Valid Texas Class A CDL Driver’s License with one year of experience.
• Level of education equivalent to four years of high school (or equivalency).
• Ability to understand basic operational, technical, or office processes.
