We’re partnering with a well-established and growing construction client in Northern VA to bring on an Assistant Controller. This is an exciting opportunity for a hands‑on accounting leader who’s ready to take the next step in their career and grow into a Controller role over time.

• Oversee day‑to‑day accounting operations, including general ledger, financial reporting, and internal controls.
• Manage monthly, quarterly, and year‑end close processes to ensure accuracy and compliance with U.S. GAAP.
• Lead and mentor accounting staff, fostering a culture of accountability and professional growth.
• Partner with leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support business decisions.
• Streamline accounting processes and drive efficiency using financial systems and reporting tools.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CPA required.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership capacity.
• Proven experience managing financial operations for a privately held company.
• Advanced Excel skills and strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and internal controls.

• 3+ years of experience in construction accounting.
• Master’s in Accounting or MBA.
• Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems.
