Job Title: Customer Service Representative/ Call Center/ Office Clerk (Tax)
Pay Rate: $16-$18.00 hr /W2
Location: McLean, VA 22102
Duration: Long-Term Contract
Notes:
- Candidates must be able to obtain IRS Clearance after the offer is extended.
- Clearance process will be initiated post-offer; candidates must comply with all background verification steps.
- The IRS is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Indexer to manage and maintain the indexing of critical tax documents and records.
- The Indexer will ensure that information is accurately categorized and easily retrievable to support the IRS's mission of tax administration and enforcement.
- Review, analyze, and index tax-related documents, forms, and records according to IRS standards and guidelines.
- Assign appropriate indexing codes and metadata to ensure accurate classification and retrieval of documents.
- Maintain and update digital and physical filing systems to enhance document accessibility.
- Collaborate with other IRS departments to verify document accuracy and completeness.
- Conduct quality control checks to ensure data integrity and compliance with privacy and security regulations.
- Utilize IRS software tools and databases for indexing and record management.
- Assist in the preparation of reports and documentation related to indexing activities.
- Adhere to IRS confidentiality policies and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Experience in document management, indexing, or administrative roles is an asset.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proficient with data entry and document management software.
- Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Skills:
- Familiarity with IRS procedures and tax-related documentation.
- Experience with federal or government record-keeping systems.
- Knowledge of database management and indexing software.
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required;
Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
