Astor & Sanders Corporation (Astor) is an award‑winning IT solutions provider headquartered in McLean, VA and is seeking a Business Development Manager. This is a full‑time benefited and hybrid position based in the McLean area.
This position reports to the Chief Growth Officer and is an Operations Level Strategic position accountable for the execution and growth of current key accounts, and other targeted federal account areas.
The Business Development Manager is responsible for ensuring excellence in support of development activities, including target identification, capture strategies, proposal win themes, account management, creation of customer focused packaged service offerings and customer relations.
This individual will partner with the capture management team to ensure effective use of B&P resources for associated bids as well as identifying and collaborating with counterparts across Astor & Sanders including the Executives, and Corporate Business Development Leadership to ensure best of breed solutions are brought forward to customers and ensures Astor & Sanders is appropriately represented for strategic campaigns in our core markets.
This position is responsible for creating call plans for key customers and programs, and provides additional leadership and expertise in other new business matters including strategic planning, competitive intelligence and market analysis.
Candidate will participate in senior line and business development pipeline‑pursuit reviews to ensure solid value propositions, win strategies, call plans, etc., are completed along with applicable CRM data entry and maintenance.
- Identify, engage, plan and develop new accounts, as well as expand in existing partnerships
- Prepare and present proposals and solutions to a decision maker
- Forecast, track and report opportunity pipeline and closes
- Develop and execute strategic plan to achieve sales targets and expand client base
- Cultivate strong relationships with existing clients, identifying opportunities and building a pipeline; educate clients on technology trends
- Develop sales reports, communicate sales status and update and maintain Salesforce with activities and opportunities.
- Identify, investigate and follow up on qualified leads in key market segments; this includes servicing R&D and product management groups of various agencies
- Additional duties as assigned
Skills & Experience:
- Around 5+ years of experience maintaining customer relationships with various agencies within the Federal Government.
- Bachelor’s Degree Business, Marketing, or related field
- Knowledge of information technology services
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships at all levels in client organizations
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to articulate complex content to a variety of audiences
- Self‑motivated and results driven; proven ability to work well independently while maintaining a targeted, goal‑oriented approach to sales
- Strong technical acumen and understanding of various technology fields
- The ability to maintain a high level of domain knowledge in technology and evolving customer business needs
