Job Summary and Responsibilities

Acentra Health is looking for a Director, Strategic Sourcing to join our growing team.

Job Summary: The Director of Strategic Sourcing is responsible for leading enterprise-wide sourcing and procurement strategies that drive cost savings, mitigate supply risk, ensure quality, and enhance supplier value. This role partners with internal stakeholders and senior leadership to align sourcing practices with organizational goals. The Director oversees a cross-functional sourcing team, manages high-value vendor relationships, and implements policies, tools, and analytics to optimize total procurement performance.

This leader must be adept at building sourcing strategies across diverse categories (IT, professional services, facilities, etc.), driving process transformation, and leveraging technologies such as AI to enable data-driven decision-making and workflow efficiency.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and lead the company's long-term sourcing strategy. Strategy should be aligned with Company's procurement spend rationalization objectives and contractually required small/disadvantaged business utilization objectives.
  • Establish and maintain procurement and sourcing policies, procedures, and governance frameworks.
  • Build and maintain rolling 18-month calendar of procurement priorities. Calendar should account for opportunities for contract and vendor consolidation, "seasons" for purchase of goods and services that align with "slow" market periods, effective use of external resources to support competitive procurements, improved alignment between timing of supplier contracts with the client requirements they support, etc.
  • Expand supply chain assessment and evaluation programs to enable Company to make data-driven vendor selection and maintenance decisions.
  • Identify, engage and internally promote a network of preferred suppliers. Preferred suppliers should support Company objectives related to efficient purchasing, access to volume and most favored customer discounts, reduction of tail spend.
  • Work across the business to assist with standardization of requirements for core purchases to drive efficient purchasing.
  • Perform regular spend assessments. Provide recommendations to help achieve continuous cost improvement.
  • Drive innovation of procurement function, e.g. identify opportunities for process improvement, use of AI, etc.
  • Read, understand, and adhere to all corporate policies including policies related to HIPAA and its Privacy and Security Rules.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, or related field required.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in sourcing or procurement, including 5+ years in a leadership or director-level role.
  • Strong track record in vendor management and negotiation of high-value contracts.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree (MBA or MS in Supply Chain) preferred.
  • Demonstrated success in strategic sourcing across multiple spend categories.
  • Experience managing distributed or global teams.
  • Understanding of procurement best practices, sourcing methodologies, and contracting.
  • Familiarity with AI tools and how to apply them to sourcing or reporting processes.
  • Strategic thinker with strong financial acumen, communication, and change management skills.
  • Ability to influence at all levels of the organization and lead cross-functional initiatives.
