Who We’re Looking For (Position Overview)

We are seeking a detail-oriented Business Development and Proposal Coordinator to develop compelling, compliant, and high-quality proposals for government and commercial solicitations. In addition to writing and managing proposal content, this role will contribute to proposal operations, process improvement, data-driven decision-making, and proposal management. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, demonstrates strong writing and organizational skills, and seeks to improve processes that enhance efficiency and win rates.

The Business Development and Proposal Coordinator will demonstrate a firm understanding of the proposal and procurement process, actively participating in and occasionally leading pursuit teams to develop proposals and supporting materials that position Spry to win projects across various service lines. This is an opportunity to join a dedicated growth team responsible for securing the sales revenue that drives Spry’s continuous expansion.

A convincing candidate will showcase the ability to learn our services, unique value propositions (UVPs), and corporate structure to effectively present the firm’s qualifications and win new projects. This individual must possess excellent time management skills, be capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously, and be motivated by growth opportunities.

What Your Day-To-Day Looks Like (Position Responsibilities)
  • Proposal Writing & Development
  • Support the development of technical, management, past performance, and executive summary sections for complex proposals.
  • Work with SMEs to create clear, persuasive, and customer-focused content aligned with solicitation requirements and internal growth strategies.
  • Conduct compliance checks and incorporate win themes to enhance proposal quality.
  • Edit and proofread for clarity, consistency, and compliance.
  • Proposal Coordination & Operations
  • Support proposal kickoff meetings, color team reviews, and progress tracking.
  • Manage proposal schedules, content libraries, and ensure proper version control.
  • Collaborate with designers and editors to create visually compelling documents.
  • Track proposal metrics, lessons learned, and process improvements.
  • Process Improvement & Data-Driven Proposal Operations
  • Enhance proposal tracking and decision-making through dashboard development and data visualization.
  • Maintain and organize proposal repositories for accessibility and alignment with best practices.
  • Support process improvements, automation tools, and compliance workflows.
  • Research and recommend technology solutions, including AI-driven tools and CRM integrations.
  • Proposal Management
  • Assist in leading small-scale proposals, including quick-turn RFIs and task order responses.
  • Develop outlines, compliance matrices, and response templates.
  • Manage smaller proposal teams and support bid/no-bid decision‑making.
  • Ensure compliance with internal submission and approval processes.
  • General Business Development & Proposal Support
  • Develop and finalize RFIs and RFPs, ensuring quality control and compliance.
  • Work with cross‑functional teams to maintain databases, conduct research, and create business development materials.
  • Oversee proposal production, peer reviews, and final submission requirements.
  • Coordinate with teaming partners and refine proposal templates for future use.
What You Need to Succeed (Minimum Requirements)
  • Citizenship Requirements
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Education & Certifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field. Work experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.
  • Strong understanding of Shipley proposal development methods and APMP best practices.
  • APMP certification is a plus.
  • Experience & Skills
  • 2-4 years of experience in business development, proposal writing, or similar support roles.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills with strong attention to detail and accountability.
  • Proven ability to engage, interact, and collaborate professionally with a diverse group of colleagues.
  • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a keen eye for detail.
