Aviation Analyst
As an Aviation Analyst, you will provide analytic support as part of a diverse team of experts performing a spectrum of military and intelligence analysis across a variety of different projects. The analysis work performed will primarily focus on air and air‑defense systems and the creation of products used to communicate the information to a wide variety of customers. Your initial responsibilities will depend on existing proficiencies, with substantial opportunity to expand your skills and expertise across the breadth of the team’s responsibilities.
This position will be located at a government facility in Northern, VA.
- Perform operational analysis and integrate ELINT with other sources of intelligence to generate a comprehensive understanding of the threat picture.
- Collect, analyze, and exploit data from various sources to evaluate a country's integrated air defense systems (IADS).
- Provide expertise on current and future foreign capabilities in the air / air‑defense domains.
- Author comprehensive threat assessments detailing the results of the above analysis.
- 4+ years of experience working within the U.S. Intelligence Community/DoD.
- Current Top Secret/SCI clearance with a current full‑scope polygraph.
- Knowledge of the IADS kill chain.
- Bachelor's degree. Equivalent professional experience may be substituted for a degree.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, and to adapt to a dynamic work environment that is responsive to world events.
- Must understand the customer's areas of interest and develop analytic products and research lines in anticipation of the customer's future needs.
- 10+ years of experience working within the U.S. Intelligence Community/DoD.
- Experience with ELINT collection and analysis at the operational or technical level.
- An understanding of radars and their use in airspace monitoring/weapon control.
- Experience with analysis tools such as MIST/THRESHER, or equivalents.
- Experience with modeling and simulation software and analysis of military systems.
- Knowledge of aircraft, air operations, and air defense systems.
- Exceptional analytic tradecraft, professional writing, proofreading, briefing, and public speaking skills.
- Demonstrated ability to learn new skills/tools, and a willingness to expand areas of knowledge as required.
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field preferred, or equivalent life experience.
- Top Secret/SCI with a Full‑Scope Polygraph.
- U.S. Citizenship is required for this position.
