Job Summary:
The Instructional Design and Training Specialist is responsible for overseeing the internal training team. They play a pivotal role in leading a team of instructional designers to create engaging, effective, and scalable learning experiences. This role combines leadership, project management, and instructional design expertise to ensure the successful delivery of learning solutions aligned with organizational goals. Additionally, the Specialist is responsible for writing and editing the learning content for end‑user training, creating job aids and documentation, website content management and communications.
Participating in and overseeing design activities, leading the internal training team to develop content and implement training. Involved in learning program development, supporting the internal training environment, overseeing classroom training, and updating training materials.
- Lead the end‑to‑end design, development, and delivery of learning and education programs, managing one or more work streams from concept through implementation.
- Plan, manage, and track project timelines, resources, dependencies, and stakeholder expectations to ensure on‑time, in‑scope delivery aligned with quality standards and governance.
- Provide day‑to‑day leadership and guidance to internal training team members, including work prioritization, execution of work plans, coordination of resources, and facilitation of meetings.
- Apply adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies (e.g., ADDIE, SAM) to develop inclusive, accessible, measurable, and effective learning solutions.
- Oversee the development, review, and approval of role‑based education materials, including eLearning, instructor‑led training, job aids, and blended learning solutions.
- Manage the development and implementation of training programs for assigned applications and impacted end users, including onboarding, go‑live support, and ongoing education.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for education‑related communications and content management, including provider newsletters, manuals, bulletins, training materials, and website publications.
- Own and execute communications in support of the Program Education Plan, ensuring accuracy, clarity, consistency, and alignment with organizational and client standards.
- Develop and document the impact of change requests on training, communications, and publications related to policy updates and system functionality changes.
- Review and approve publication drafts to ensure clear, data‑supported messaging aligned with author intent, system updates, and key communication objectives.
- Partner with Marketing and Communications to ensure alignment with corporate branding, communication standards, and timely delivery of high‑quality materials.
- Establish and maintain learning design standards, governance, and publication best practices; evaluate learning effectiveness and recommend continuous improvements based on data, feedback, and industry trends.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Instructional Design, Organizational Development, Communications, Website Design, Marketing, or related field. Experience may substitute for minimum education requirement.
