Kids Ministry & Childcare Coordinator

The Kids Ministry & Childcare Coordinator plays a vital role in the spiritual nurturing and care of children from birth through 5th Grade. This position is responsible for creating a safe, loving, and developmentally appropriate environments where children can begin to learn about God's love. The coordinator will plan weekly programming as well as recruit, train, schedule, and support volunteers, and ensure that ministry aligns with the church's overall vision for children's and family discipleship.

The coordinator leads the paid childcare program as the primary contact point for paid childcare employees, Sitter Tree contract employees, and event point person. Coordinator will be responsible for onboarding new paid childcare contractors, and work with Children's Ministry Director maintaining and reporting childcare contractor hours and training. The coordinator will spearhead Vacation Bible School (VBS) marketing, volunteer recruitment, community partnerships, and work with Children's Ministry Director on overall strategy and implementation.

· Coordinate all Sunday morning children's programming

· Oversee Sunday morning check-in/check-out and safety procedures, identifying and ensuring volunteers are trained and in-place facilitating check-in/check-out

· Prepare and distribute weekly lessons for children to volunteers; ensuring lessons, and supporting materials are in the classrooms no later than Thursday of each week

· Responsible for recleaning/resetting classrooms after equipping nights/special events

· Ensure clean, safe, and welcoming environments for each age group

· Monitor and implement age-appropriate safety and hygiene practices

· Maintain HTC Kids Lending Library for children and families

· Recruit, train, schedule, and support ministry volunteers for Sunday and special events

· Provide ongoing encouragement, support, and communication with volunteer team

· Distribute weekly lesson plans and classroom expectations each Tuesday

· Provide guidance on childhood development and effective classroom management

· Coordinate Volunteer Training events, deploying onsite and virtual opportunities

· Coordinate with volunteers who support craft or other weekly preparation, ordering and setting up supply pickup, and completed craft prep drop off in a timely manner

· Update and maintain current HTC Kids Volunteer Handbook

· Manage class rosters, volunteer schedules, and attendance records

· Maintain supplies and toys in a clean, organized, and safe condition

· Coordinate scheduling periodic deep cleanings, including carpets, in classrooms

· Ensure compliance with child protection policies, background checks, and training

· Order/restock snacks, water or other supplies, including office and craft supplies

· Respond to inquiries that come through HTC Kids email box, including volunteer scheduling, as scheduled. Each HTC Kids Staff will be assigned a rotating month, to oversee and respond to HTC Kids email box, including checking emails on Saturdays.

· Create and send monthly HTC Kids Newsletters and Upcoming Special Events

· Responsible for organizing and maintaining HTC Storage Closets throughout the building, including craft and office supplies, costumes, decorations, and gym day items

· Prepare and distribute supporting materials for HTC Kids Training events, equipping classes, catechism classes, and future HTC volunteer discipleship programming

· Connect relationally with children and their parents in the lobby

· Check in with classroom teachers during the service to assess their needs
