Overview

We are seeking a Telecommunications Engineer 3 to design, coordinate, and specify telecommunication distribution systems and infrastructure for medium to large projects. The role involves creating detailed design drawings, coordinating infrastructure needs, and overseeing project lifecycle aspects including construction, scheduling, and budgeting.

Responsibilities
  • Produce detailed design drawings in AutoCAD or REVIT based on project criteria.
  • Coordinate communication outlet types, configurations, and locations.
  • Design detailed floor plans and telecommunication spaces.
  • Coordinate infrastructure with other systems such as CCTV, Access Control, A/V, Fire Alarm, WLAN, Building Automation, etc.
  • Design pathways and manage cable lists, project specifications, and testing plans.
  • Respond to RFIs, support proposal development, and maintain project documentation.
  • Engage in project quality control and learn active systems like nurse call, public address, DAS, and emergency phones.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 5+ years’ recent experience in telecommunications infrastructure with a Bachelor's Degree, or 3+ years with a Master's, or 0+ years with a PhD in a related field.
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently and in teams.
  • Basic understanding of TIA standards and NFPA Codes.
  • Willing to pass background checks and achieve BICSI RCDD within one year.
Desired Experience
  • BICSI RCDD certification.
  • Experience with CAD/BIM systems like REVIT.
  • Knowledge of active communication systems such as PA, Nurse Call, DAS, WLAN, emergency phones.
  • Manufacturer certifications and field installation experience are a plus.
Abilities
  • Prolonged computer use, sitting, reaching, and finger dexterity.
  • Strong listening, speaking, reading, and problem-solving skills.
