Job SummaryInvestment Banking Summer Analysts (part of the Capital Markets & Advisory area) work on a variety of financial products—including public and private debt and equity financings, mergers and acquisitions, and financial advisory—over the internship period. Analysts enhance their financial analysis skills, deepen their understanding of capital markets and clients, and contribute ideas on projects of significant scope and impact. Responsibilities include high‑level research, creation of original work products and presentations, drafting sessions, new business proposal sessions, and due diligence meetings.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Develop financial models to assess debt and equity financing alternatives for transactions.
- Perform valuation methodologies, comparative company analysis, and discounted cash flow analysis on target companies.
- Provide meaningful input to equity offerings, valuations, private placements, mergers and acquisitions advisories.
- Research, analyze, present and document drafting elements of developing transactions.
- Collaborate with Senior Bankers to develop strategies for client presentations and create unique materials.
- Analyze current events in respective industry groups and provide meaningful input about the impact of critical issues relevant to clients and deals.
- Maintain group databases as requested for research and analysis.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned, including duties requiring independent judgment and discretion on matters of significance to the business.
