Position Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Specialist to join our team in McLean, VA. The ideal candidate will play a key role in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing for our employees, with a strong command of Deltek Costpoint and a working knowledge of ADP systems. This position requires a high degree of accuracy, discretion, and customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

* Process bi-weekly and/or semi-monthly payrolls using ADP Workforce Now for approximately 500 employees in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment.

* Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.

* Importing semi-monthly timesheets via electronic Time and Expense system into Deltek Costpoint Accounting system.

* Maintain and update employee payroll records, including new hires, terminations, and changes

* Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, deductions, and tax with holdings

* Collaborate with HR and Accounting teams to ensure proper flow and maintenance of employee data

* Assist with payroll reconciliations, audits, and year-end reporting, including W-2 and 941 filings

* Support ADP-related tasks as needed, such as benefits integration or reporting

* Stay current on payroll best practices and relevant labor laws

Qualifications:

* 2-4 years of payroll processing experience, preferably in a government contracting environment

* Hands-on experience with Deltek Costpoint is required

* Familiarity with ADP platforms (such as Workforce Now or Run) is a plus

* Knowledge of federal and state wage and hour laws

* Strong Excel skills and general proficiency with MS Office Suite

* Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills

* Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with integrity

* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

Preferred:

* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline

* Advanced Microsoft Excel Skills.

* Experience supporting payroll for cleared personnel or within the defense contracting industry

* Knowledge of fringe benefits, DCAA compliance, and labor category structures

Work Environment:

* In-office work may be required based on operational needs but flexibility on some hybrid work after initial training period.
