We invite you to apply for the Medical Assistant position at VHC Health in McLean, VA. This role is focused on supporting primary care physicians and delivering quality patient care in a vibrant community.
Purpose & ScopeThe Medical Assistant ensures the clinical environment is clean, stocked, and ready for patient care.
Responsibilities include:
• Performing phlebotomy and preparing specimens for transport to labs.
• Conducting simple laboratory procedures and taking vital signs.
• Preparing patients for procedures and assisting with patient flow.
• Providing general clinical support to physicians and staff.
• Answering phones, scheduling appointments, collecting co‑pays, assisting with billing, and updating the electronic medical record.
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Preferred: graduation from a medical assisting degree/program.
- One year of healthcare/medical primary‑care/office experience is preferred.
Required:
one year of medical terminology experience. - Experience in clinical pharmacology is required.
- Six months of healthcare experience is required.
- Knowledge of the Bloodborne Pathogen Standard is required.
- Medical Assistant Certification or Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) is preferred.
Required:
BLS certification.
