Position Summary

The HR Generalist role provides strategic and tactical HR support to assigned client groups within M.C. Dean. This role collaborates closely with HR leadership and business leaders to deliver core HR programs, drive employee engagement, and strengthen organizational capabilities. The HR Generalist plays a key role in implementing enterprise‑wide HR initiatives—including performance management, promotion processes, succession planning, career frameworks, career pathing, and learning and development programs—ensuring consistent adoption and alignment with business needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as primary HR point of contact for assigned business units, advising on employee relations, performance management, workforce planning, and organizational development.
  • Work directly with HR leadership to roll out, communicate, and implement existing and new HR initiatives, including:
    • Performance management cycles and continuous feedback practices
    • Promotion and advancement processes
    • Succession planning and talent reviews
    • Career framework development and career pathing implementation
    • Learning and development initiatives and training programs
  • Support talent acquisition efforts by collaborating with recruiters, participating in interviews, and advising leaders on selection decisions.
  • Support investigations related to employee relations issues and provide recommendations aligned with policies and legal requirements.
  • Administer key HR processes, including onboarding, promotions, performance management, succession planning, terminations, and leave administration.
  • Support compensation reviews, job evaluations, and internal equity considerations.
  • Track and analyze HR metrics (e.g., turnover, retention, engagement) to identify trends and recommend actions.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to leaders on team development, corrective actions, and performance improvement plans.
  • Contribute to HR projects, change management efforts, and continuous improvement initiatives across the enterprise.
  • Work with the Education department to develop and/or implement training programs in support of the business unit.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive HR experience (generalist or HRBP).
  • Strong understanding of employment law and HR best practices.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting or implementing HR programs (e.g., performance management, learning initiatives, or talent reviews).
  • Proven ability to partner effectively with leadership and employees at all levels.
  • Strong communication, critical thinking, and organization skills.
  • Ability to manage sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.
Preferred Qualifications
  • PHR, SHRM‑CP, or similar certification.
  • Experience supporting technical, engineering, construction, or project‑based work forces.
  • Experience in a multi‑state or large‑scale organization.
