Fuel Data Manager - SME. McLean, VA
Job Description
Fuel is seeking a Data Manager to acquire, control, and catalog large-scale, complex datasets for our customer’s mission. The position requires a highly detail-oriented individual who understands the complexities of data movement and curation. The data manager will analyze the customer’s current dataset catalog to identify gaps, which will drive additional targeted dataset acquisitions as appropriate.
Duties may include:
Determine data needs and resources to be used.Organize, implement, and enforce data collection policies and procedures.Train employees on proper data collection methods, tools, and equipment.Establish and ensure data collection quality standards are met.Ensure the data management system operates correctly.Troubleshoot data-related problems.Document data management procedures.Develop methodologies for data collection and evaluation per project.Analyze data collection adequacy for each project.Ensure compliance of the data management system with relevant laws and regulations.Evaluate and improve operational procedures of the data management system.Develop and disseminate data catalog reports upon request.Present findings at meetings.Skills and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience or certifications.10+ years of data management experience.Ability to multi-task, be independent, and self-starting.Excellent mathematical, organizational, analytical, and critical thinking skills.Strong management and leadership abilities.Effective verbal and written communication skills with technical and non-technical personnel.Top Secret clearance with FS Polygraph.About Fuel
