Data Scientist – Poly Clearance Required!
Praxis is a prime contractor performing on a High Performance Computing (HPC) contract in support of a restricted customer and a select set of mission partners. This contract provides advanced computing capabilities for executing scientific, data science and AI/ML workloads. The team delivers infrastructure that enables innovation in high‑fidelity analytics and model development through cutting‑edge computing and engineering support.
What You Will Be DoingThe team needs to understand the performance characteristics of its complex infrastructure and quantify how users exercise this platform. We pull and groom data from systems and logs, visualizing key attributes to guide optimization and future investments. The successful candidate will create visualizations, reports and dashboards for management to support monitoring and decision‑making. This role involves learning the environment’s needs, curating data for consumption, and building data‑driven artifacts that are easy to interpret.
As the role expands, you will acquire requirements to enhance the delivery of HPC hardware and software tools for mission partners using data science, complex physics‑based modeling, and AI/ML. You will collaborate with the HPC team, system administrators, and users to shape future environments, including emerging areas such as MLOps, LLM integrations, and AI‑enabled services. Day‑to‑day activities include generating reports and dashboards and contributing to broader team initiatives to meet mission requirements.
You Will Need
- Experience in software development to write code and scripts to curate data and develop visualizations (API/ETL).
- Hands‑on experience with scripting languages such as Python, JavaScript, etc.
- Knowledge of data science techniques to deliver visualizations and dashboards, with a plan to expand into more complex machine learning operations for future system insights.
- Experience capturing requirements.
- Comfortable in a fast‑moving environment.
- Ability to self‑start and manage deadlines to completion.
