As a IT Software Engineer
, you will work with our growing Tech Ops practice delivering features to support internal operations. You will be responsible for reliability and delivery of internal automation and integrations on Microsoft Azure. This role focuses on monitoring, incident response, incremental development, and clear documentation in a structured Agile/Scrum environment.
- Operational reliability:
Monitor automation and application health; investigate alerts; perform root‑cause analysis; implement corrective actions to restore service and prevent recurrence. - Automation development:
Design, implement, test, and maintain IT process automations and tools using Logic Apps, Power Shell, Azure Functions (C#), etc. - Integration engineering:
Configure and support SaaS platform integrations with Azure/Entra , including authentication, SCIM provisioning, and API‑driven data exchange. - Requirements & delivery:
Collect and refine requirements with stakeholders; break work into tickets; deliver increments aligned to sprint goals. - Agile participation:
Participate in stand‑ups, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives; provide accurate status and estimates.
- Must be local to DC Metro Area, onsite requirement of 3 days/week at the McLean Office.
- BS Degree in a technical discipline (Computer Science).
- Experience with one or more clouds (Azure strongly preferred; AWS or GCP).
- Experience with Git SCM providers such as Git Hub, Git Lab, Bitbucket.
- Experience with one or more programming or scripting languages (Power Shell, Python, C#, etc.).
- Strong written communication and attention to detail.
- 1‑2 years software development experience.
- Experience integrating with REST APIs and handling JSON; basic understanding of webhooks and Graph API concepts.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Azure and Entra (Azure AD) (users, groups, app registrations, service principals).
- Experience automating processes with Power Shell and/or Azure Functions (C#).
Steampunk relies on several factors to determine salary, including but not limited to geographic location, contractual requirements, education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience. The projected compensation range for this position is $70,000 to $110,000. The estimate displayed represents a typical annual salary range for this position.
