As a Data Engineer at Range, you’ll play a central role in building and scaling the data infrastructure that powers our analytics, product insights, and customer experiences. You will design, develop, and maintain robust data pipelines and platforms that ensure data is accurate, secure, and available for both real‑time and batch analytics. You’ll collaborate closely with product, analytics, data science, and engineering teams to turn raw data into reliable, scalable information that drives business decisions and fuels growth.

We're excited to hire this role at Range’s Headquarters in McLean, VA. All of our positions follow an in‑office schedule Monday through Friday, allowing you to collaborate directly with your team. • Create, maintain, and optimize scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT workflows to support analytics and product initiatives.

• Integrate data from various internal and external sources, ensuring seamless ingestion, transformation, and delivery.

• Help shape our data architecture, including data warehouse/schema design, storage solutions, and workflow orchestration.

• Optimize queries and storage performance for efficiency at scale, especially as data volume grows with our customer base.

• Implement data quality checks, monitoring systems, and troubleshooting tools to ensure data reliability and accuracy.

• Work closely with data scientists, analysts, and cross‑functional partners to understand data needs and deliver timely solutions.

• Maintain clear documentation for pipelines, architecture decisions, and standards to support team alignment and onboarding.

• 5+ years of experience in Data Engineering

• BS or BA in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, or another quantitative discipline from a top‑tier university

• Strong proficiency in Python and SQL for building and optimizing data workflows.

• Hands‑on experience with cloud data platforms and tool chains (e.g., AWS, GCP, Snowflake, Big Query, Redshift).

• Familiarity with data pipeline orchestration tools such as Airflow, dbt, Prefect, or similar.

• Experience with data modeling, schema design, and data warehousing concepts in large‑scale environments.

• Strong analytical mindset with excellent problem‑solving skills, especially in ambiguous or evolving environments.

• Comfortable working collaboratively across teams and translating business needs into technical solutions.

• Experience working in fintech or other consumer‑focused, high‑growth technology startup environments.
