We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Client Delivery Lead to join our dynamic team, focusing on managing development and engineering processes for Java applications. This role is pivotal in ensuring that our projects are delivered on time, within scope, and in alignment with our clients' expectations. As a Client Delivery Lead, you will oversee a talented group of developers and engineers, playing a crucial role in motivating and mentoring them to enhance their skills and productivity.

Your technical knowledge, particularly in Java, will help you guide the team through challenges and ensure the highest quality of deliverables. You will work closely with clients to understand their needs and translate them into actionable plans for your team.

In this Role, you will:
  • Lead the development and engineering teams in delivering Java applications that meet client specifications.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Manage project timelines, deliverables, and ensure effective resource allocation to meet deadlines.
  • Mentor team members to foster professional development and enhance team capabilities.
  • Review code and architecture to ensure best practices are followed and high-quality standards are maintained.

Based on this role’s business requirements, this is an onsite position requiring 5 days a week in a client or Cognizant office in McLean, Virginia.

What you need to have to be considered:
  • Minimum of 20+ years strong experience in managing Development, Engineering, Modernization engagements. With someone from development background with programming technologies like Java backend, RDBMS, Cloud, Front end (React/Angular).
  • Leading large, distributed teams and a portfolio size of ~$30m.
  • Have strong experience in comfortably interacting with Client Sr. Executives to drive discussions around Transformation / Strategy etc., along with outcomes that benefit from customer shoes.
  • Hands on experience in running the Governance meetings both Internal / External stakeholders. Knows how to present the content at various levels and the messaging according to the leaders. Be bold and open to discuss the risks / issues along with clear mitigation plans.
  • Monitor program performance and report on key metrics to senior management.
  • Facilitate workshops and training sessions to promote a customer‑centric culture within the organization.
  • Expert in collaborating with multiple teams to put together / review solutions – estimates and support RFP. Take part in driving the client presentations and once successfully awarded, be comfortable in drafting the SOW / SLA’s etc.,
  • Can comfortably present / discuss on Dev Ops, SRE, Cloud, Microservices architecture, Productivity tools (GHCP, Codeium, etc.,) and GenAI.
  • Experience in working with the Banking Domain is highly recommended.
This will help you stand out:
  • MS or MBA degree
  • Certification (a plus) in any AWS/Microsoft Cloud Practioner, Solution Architect.

The annual salary for this position is between $113,459 -$195,000 depending on the experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program and stock awards, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
