Take2 Consulting is seeking a highly skilled Zero Trust Assessment Lead to support federal customers in evaluating, designing, and advancing their Zero Trust cybersecurity posture. This role is part of a high-performing team conducting current-state Zero Trust assessments and delivering actionable roadmaps to help organizations mature their security architectures in alignment with federal standards.
Role OverviewThe Zero Trust Assessment Lead will serve as a technical and functional leader for assessment engagements lasting between 60 days and 6 months, depending on complexity. This individual will lead assessment teams, collaborate with subject matter experts, and engage directly with senior government stakeholders to evaluate existing cybersecurity controls, identify gaps, and recommend integrated Zero Trust solutions.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and execute Zero Trust current-state assessments across people, process, and technology domains
- Evaluate how existing cybersecurity controls and tools integrate and support a Zero Trust architecture
- Develop Zero Trust readiness assessments, maturity models, and actionable implementation roadmaps
- Formulate policies, configurations, and technical recommendations to improve tool interoperability
- Collaborate with SMEs to gather technical and operational details required for assessments
- Brief senior leaders and executives on findings, risks, and recommended paths forward
- Provide leadership and guidance to a small team of cybersecurity professionals
- Support proposal and project teams by contributing to implementation plans and roadmaps
- 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity operations
- 2+ years of experience delivering technical projects for large, complex organizations
- Experience with product selection initiatives such as A&O, AI, analytics, secure Dev Ops, ICAM, or NAC
- Strong knowledge of Zero Trust concepts, solutions, and roadmaps aligned to NIST 800-207 and DoD Zero Trust Reference Architecture
- Hands‑on knowledge of networking, ICAM, SASE, ZTNA, CASB, and cloud environments
- Ability to engage and advise senior leaders including CISOs, CIOs, CTOs, and executive stakeholders
- Proven leadership, communication, and team collaboration skills
- Experience in cybersecurity compliance, engineering, or operational roles
- Experience with advanced cybersecurity capabilities such as AI/ML, NGFW, Big Data, and automation
- Hands‑on experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Industry certifications such as CEH, CISM, CCSP, CCSK, CISSP, or CompTIA Security+
