Appian Administrator

Must Have

Qualifications:

• Experience managing and migrating Appian applications from a Linux environment to cloud/Kubernetes.
• Strong expertise in Appian Containers and Kubernetes and can hit the ground running with minimal ramp‑up time.
• Background in mortgage is preferred but not required.

We are seeking an experienced Appian Administrator to support and lead the migration of Appian applications from an on‑prem Linux environment to AWS EKS (Elastic Kubernetes Service). The ideal candidate has hands‑on experience administering Appian environments, managing deployments, and working closely with Dev Ops and cloud engineering teams to design, implement, and stabilize containerized Appian solutions in AWS.

• Manage, configure, and maintain multiple Appian environments (on‑prem and cloud).
• Collaborate with infrastructure, security, and Dev Ops teams to plan and execute migration from on‑prem to AWS EKS.
• Set up and manage Appian Docker containers and Helm configurations.
• Oversee installation, patching, upgrades, and hotfixes of Appian versions.
• Coordinate database migrations (e.g., DB2 to Postgre
  
  SQL).
• Ensure application and plugin compatibility post‑migration.
• Work with Info Sec for image scanning, vulnerability remediation, and compliance approvals.
• Support performance tuning, monitoring, and troubleshooting across environments.
• Create and maintain detailed runbooks, SOPs, and architecture documentation.

• 5+ years of experience as an Appian Administrator (versions 21.x or later).
• Proven experience migrating Appian from on‑prem to containerized/cloud environments (preferably AWS EKS).
• Strong understanding of Linux administration, Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, and AWS services (ECR, S3, IAM, Cloud Watch).
• Experience integrating Appian with enterprise services (LDAP, SSO, SMTP, database, secrets management).
• Familiarity with Kubernetes pods, Webhooks/Controllers.
• Experience with Appian automation, deployment pipelines (CI/CD), and plugin management.
• Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.
• Experience working with EFS, ASM (Amazon Secret Manager), Appian operator/CRD.
• Cloud Formation templates, Terraform.
