The ideal candidate will have strong experience with both Joomla and Word Press, along with a passion for creating engaging, user-friendly web experiences. This position requires someone who can think independently, propose innovative design solutions, and take ownership of website improvements rather than simply executing assigned tasks.

Proactively identify opportunities to improve website design, navigation, functionality, and content presentation.

Recommend and implement creative digital solutions that enhance how information is organized, presented, and distributed.

Collaborate with communications teams and stakeholders to translate business and mission requirements into effective web solutions.

Maintain consistency in website design, branding, formatting, and user experience.

Troubleshoot website issues and coordinate updates to ensure reliable functionality.

Evaluate existing websites and recommend improvements based on usability, design principles, and organizational objectives.

Communicate design concepts, technical recommendations, and project updates effectively to both technical and nontechnical stakeholders.

Support additional digital communication initiatives as needed.

Required Qualifications

Active TS/SCI clearance with a CI Polygraph or Full Scope Polygraph.

Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in UI/UX design, website management, web development, or a closely related field.

Demonstrated proficiency with both Joomla and Word Press
, including hands-on experience managing and maintaining websites.

Experience updating website content, layouts, navigation, and functionality.

Strong understanding of UI/UX design principles and user-centered website design.

Ability to independently develop and recommend creative solutions to improve digital platforms.

Experience translating stakeholder requirements into functional, visually effective website improvements.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and organizational skills.

Ability to work independently while collaborating with communications professionals and technical teams.

Willingness to work onsite in McLean, Virginia.

Preferred Qualifications

Familiarity with responsive web design and accessibility best practices.

Experience customizing Joomla or Word Press templates, themes, or extensions.

Understanding of website information architecture, content organization, and navigation design.

Experience developing wireframes, mockups, or design prototypes.

Familiarity with web analytics and usability improvements.

Previous experience supporting government, intelligence community, or other mission-focused environments.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is more than a traditional website administrator. We are looking for a creative, proactive UI/UX professional who combines hands-on Joomla and Word Press expertise with strong design instincts and the ability to independently recommend improvements.

Successful candidates will be comfortable taking ownership of website initiatives, collaborating directly with stakeholders, and finding innovative ways to improve how information is presented and accessed.
