Position: Cloud Infrastructure Engineering Specialist (Senior)

Position Location: Remote /Joint Base Andrews

Altamira is seeking an experienced Cloud Infrastructure Engineering Specialist key role in designing, provisioning, securing, and maintaining the AWS-based infrastructure supporting the DME MVP solution. This role combines cloud architecture, Dev Sec Ops  engineering, automation, and security expertise ensuring that all deployed environments meet strict DoD standards and operate efficiently within a SIPR environment. The specialist also contributes to a self-service data infrastructure platform that accelerates development and operational agility across the mission.

This position is remote, must be able to attend occasional meetings at Joint Base Andrews.

• Design, harden, and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure supporting the DME MVP solution.
• Build a self-service data infrastructure platform to accelerate engineering and data workflows.
• Engineer cross cloud data interoperability across AWS, Azure, Oracle Cloud, and Google Cloud.
• Develop secure, fully automated Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform and Cloud Formation.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines enabling automated testing, security scanning, and continuous delivery.
• Lead creation of MVP service catalog and API gateway with integrated access controls.
• Manage cloud networking, IAM, encryption, identity federation, and segmentation aligned to DoD requirements.
• Optimize cloud performance, reliability, and cost across multiple platforms.
• Ensure compliance with DoD STIGs, Zero Trust principles, CSF, and related cybersecurity frameworks.
• Produce high-quality documentation, runbooks, architecture diagrams, and knowledge sharing materials.

• Must possess and maintain required DoD 8140 certifications.
• Understanding of cross cloud data patterns and architectures (AWS/Azure/OCI/GCP).
• Deep hands-on AWS experience across compute, storage, networking, IAM, KMS, VPC, and monitoring services.
• Strong command of AWS IAM roles, policies, and security best practices.
• Expert level proficiency with Infrastructure as Code, including Terraform and Cloud Formation.
• Experience designing, building, and maintaining automated CI/CD pipelines (Git Lab CI, Git Hub Actions, Jenkins, AWS Code Pipeline).
• Strong Dev Sec Ops  background and familiarity with modern Git/Git Ops workflows.
• Solid understanding of cloud networking, Linux/Unix administration, and security fundamentals.
• Working knowledge of Zero Trust architectures, DoD STIGs, secure API patterns, and boundary protections.
• Excellent problem solving skills and ability to thrive in a fast paced, evolving environment.
• Active Secret clearance required; TS/SCI preferred.

• 10 years of experience with MA/MA degree or equivalent experience
• Security Clearance: SECRET - With ability to acquire TS/SCI

The anticipated salary range for this position is $100,000 to $175,000. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors, including, but not limited to, the scope of the position, relevant experience, education, certifications, internal equity, customer contractual requirements, security clearance requirements, and other legitimate business considerations.
