This is a full-time, on-site role located at our McLean, VA office.
General ManagerThe General Manager is a crucial bridge between the company owner and the rest of the team, often taking on a “jack-of-all-trades” role, responsible for overseeing daily operations, implementing business strategies, managing financial budgets, and ensuring the achievement of company objectives. Additional responsibilities include coordinating with suppliers, partners and customers, ensuring customer satisfaction, maintaining operational efficiency, and fostering a positive work environment.
The General Manager will also be responsible for staff training and development, and for ensuring compliance with company policies.

- Implement business strategies and plans that align with short‑and‑long‑term objectives developed with CEO.
- Manage the 360‑degree marketing & product strategy for Capital Gifts and Command Challenge Coins in tandem with our SEO agency and technology group.
- Research opportunities to outsource to 3PLs to gain efficiency, specialized expertise, economies of scale, and cost savings.
- Ensure day‑to‑day operations run smoothly, efficiently, and effectively.
- Identify areas of the business where operational processes can be improved; develop and implement plans to optimize.
- Manage cross‑functional projects requiring high‑level decision‑making and close attention to client needs: launching new products or services for key clients, implementing customized solutions for large customers, and spearheading strategic partnerships with high‑value clients.
- Oversee operational budget: monitoring spending, forecasting future needs, and implementing cost‑saving measures.
- Build strong vendor relationships: develop relationships, establish performance metrics, implement evaluation schedules, provide feedback and support.
- Oversee product fulfillment and manage relationships with key suppliers, developing and negotiating contracts, ensuring necessary quality materials and products meet customer demand.
- Manage bookkeeping functions: oversee day‑to‑day financial record‑keeping, working with Fusion Taxes; financial oversight, budgeting and forecasting, financial reporting.
- Establish clear policies and procedures in accounts payable: approval workflows, authorization limits, payment scheduling and execution.
- Work closely with CEO to develop and implement business strategies that align with growth goals and objectives; manage capital investments and expenses aggressively to achieve growth and profitability targets.
- Coordinate HR administrative activities for direct reports: conduct performance and salary reviews, provide guidance and feedback, perform employee reviews and develop corrective action plans if needed, manage permanent and temporary staffing process, create compensation strategy, ensure job descriptions are up‑to‑date and compliant with regulations.
