Business Development Specialist The impact you will have

The Business Development Specialist (“BDS”) role is ultimately responsible for the growth and impact of partner‑influenced revenue on our public cloud business. Through advocacy, influence, and alignment activities, the BDS orchestrates our sell‑through strategy within a given segment or territory. Their customer is the partner – inclusive of sellers, sales leadership, partner leadership and pre‑sales leadership.

  • new partner‑influenced New Cloud Logos + Balance of trade ratio
  • partner leads + partner‑influenced pipeline
  • What you’ll do
    • Accountable for establishing and nurturing key regional relationships in Sales, sales leadership, partner leadership and pre‑sales leadership within the AWS CSC partnership
    • Responsible for “selling” Softchoice as a go‑to partner based upon our solution focus and differentiated capabilities to influence the flow of leads
    • Responsible for the regional execution of our Partner Lifecycle Management (PLM) program to accelerate alignment with our own SLT and ELT
    • Developing and distributing regional win wires
    • Focal point for all outbound communications
    • Organize and facilitate regional business reviews
    • Responsible for field marketing strategy and oversight within regions (such as AWS events, summits, partner meetings, etc.)
    • Other shared responsibilities include:
    • Develop relationships and influence within Softchoice sales leaders RVPs and managers within region
    • Contribute voice of the partnership to influence our GTM planning and Category operating priorities
    • Collaborate with AWS pre‑sales, Solution Architects, and SMEs to enable & influence Softchoice sellers and sales leadership
    • Responsible for aligned AWS Referral opportunity intake aligned to Softchoice AWS Scale team
    • Building opportunities in SFDC
    • Working with the AWS BD team to identify and align the right resources
    • Working closely with AWS Pre‑sales and Solution Architects to ensure opportunity execution
    • Assist in communication with aligned AWS Account Manager, Sales Leader, SA, etc., on opportunity progress
    • Responsible for tracking aligned pipeline and opportunity FM and close dates
    What you’ll bring to the table
    • 5 years of professional experience, 3 years minimum of related Channel partner sales or business development experience preferably within the technology/channel sector
    • Demonstrable experience in solution sales and/ or business development roles with consistent year‑over‑year performance to plan. Preference given to sales management experience.
    • Experience fostering relationships with senior executives
    • Strong executive presence, effective communication skills (all levels)
    • Technical proficiency with a conceptual understanding of Cloud computing
    Role Requirements
    • Required to be in local AWS office 2-3 days a week
    • Some additional travel, up to 20%, may be required
    • AWS Cloud Practitioner Certification is preferred, but not required (certification obtainment will be required in first 6 months of the role)
    Pay Range:

    Each individual offer will take into consideration a range of factors, including prior experience and geographic location.
