Principal Research Scientist

Object Video Labs, a subsidiary of , is seeking a highly motivated and innovative individual to join our team as a Research Scientist to join our expanding R&D team and focus on solving real-world problems. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in driving research initiatives, contributing to groundbreaking discoveries, and advancing the organization's mission.

In this role, you will engage in pioneering research in intelligent video analytics to enhance the capabilities of smart home applications. Your work will involve inventing, refining, and adapting state-of-the-art techniques in computer vision and machine learning, applied across both edge and cloud computing platforms.

The ideal candidate will be well-versed in the latest developments in deep learning and generative AI for visual recognition and video analytics, with expertise in deep learning model optimization.

Areas of interest include but are not limited to:

• Vision foundation models
• Image and video analysis using vision-language models
• Image and video synthesis with generative AI
• Customizing large language models
• Pattern discovery and anomaly detection
• Object detection, tracking, association, attribute classification, and re-identification
• Human pose estimation, action, and activity recognition
• Face detection, verification, and recognition
• Semantic, instance, and panoptic segmentation
• Other duties as assigned

• PhD in Computer Science/Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of work experience in a relevant field.
• Solid research background and experience in computer vision and deep learning.
• Demonstration of both the breadth and the depth of knowledge and track record of solving challenging problems in real-world scenarios.
• Proven programming skills in Python, C, C++, and experience with frameworks such as PyTorch and Tensor Flow.
• Experience managing technical team including research scientists and ML Engineering.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills are also required.

• General knowledge of system architectures and distributed systems.
• Hands-on experience in model deployment using tools such as ONNX, OpenVINO, or Tensor
  
  RT.
• Familiarity with techniques like model distillation and quantization for optimizing machine learning models.
