Senior Software Test Engineer

Big Bear.ai is seeking a Test Engineer to play a pivotal role in the testing and validation of cutting‑edge Computer Network Operations (CNO) tools. • Lead the charge in designing and executing test strategies for complex, mission‑critical web applications.
• Own the entire testing lifecycle from planning and execution to reporting and release validation.
• Collaborate with developers, product managers, and stakeholders to define requirements, assess risks, and ensure comprehensive test coverage.
• Create and maintain detailed documentation including test plans, test cases, bug reports, and release notes.
• Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance testing processes, tools, and automation frameworks.
• Serve as a quality advocate
  , ensuring that every release meets the highest standards of reliability and performance.

• Active TS/SCI with Polygraph Required to support this mission‑critical program.
• Minimum of 10 years or professional experience with 5 years of experience in web application and software system testing.
• Strong ability to lead testing efforts and take full ownership of quality assurance processes.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a customer‑first mindset

• Proven experience designing, executing, and overseeing software testing in Agile environments.
• Proficiency with issue tracking tools such as JIRA

  , or Redmine
  .
• Strong documentation skills—able to clearly articulate test plans, procedures, and results.
• Ability to work independently, explore solutions, and contribute meaningfully in a team setting.
• Bachelor’s degree in Math, Science, Engineering, Statistics, Engineering Management, or a related field from an accredited institution (Four additional years of test engineering experience may be substituted for a degree).
