Dental Hygienist

Join Virginia Garcia Memorial Health Center as a Dental Hygienist. Provide preventive and therapeutic oral care, educate patients, and support a high‑quality, culturally appropriate practice for low‑income residents of Washington and Yamhill Counties.

• Deliver periodontal services, scaling, root planing, and local anesthesia as treatment plans dictate.
• Perform full‑mouth prophylaxis, including scaling, polishing, and topical fluoride for adults and pediatric patients.
• Chart periodontal health with probing depths, mobility, furcations, recession, and mucogingival involvement.
• Provide chair‑side oral hygiene instruction and dietary counseling.
• Assist with restorative procedures under dentist supervision when endorsed.
• Maintain infection control, universal precautions, and instrument sterility.
• Participate in grant‑specific activities, teledentistry visits, and staff education.
• Travel within Washington and Yamhill Counties as needed.

• Associate degree or higher from an accredited dental hygiene program.
• Active dental hygiene license issued by the Oregon Board of Dentistry.
• Current BLS/CPR/AED certification.
• Knowledge of periodontal procedures, charting, and infection control.
• Excellent oral and written communication; bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
• Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and active auto insurance.
• Experience with nitrous oxide and restorative endorsement preferred.
