Job Title: Plant Sales Manager

FLSA Status: Exempt

Summary

The Plant Sales Manager is responsible for the strategic and profitable management of the plant's sales department. This leadership role oversees day‑to‑day operations, develops and executes sales strategies, and ensures targets are met or exceeded. The manager serves as a key advisor to the Plant General Manager on marketing, sales activities, and participation in daily Sales and Operations Planning.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Strategic Planning:
    Collaborate with the General Manager to develop and manage the plant's marketing and sales objectives.
  • Sales Execution:
    Develop and implement effective sales plans to ensure products are available in the right locations, in sufficient quantities, and to the right markets to achieve sales and market‑share goals.
  • Team Leadership:
    Foster a “We are Fun and Easy to Do Business With” mindset within the Sales department, promoting a positive and client‑focused culture.
  • Training & Development:
    Plan, coordinate, and lead comprehensive in‑plant and in‑field sales training for our distribution network.
  • Market Analysis:
    Conduct regular market research and competitive analysis to identify opportunities and trends within the market.
  • Budget Management:
    Maintain tight cost controls to ensure the sales department operates efficiently and effectively within its allocated budget.
  • Promotional

    Activities:

    Plan and promote participation in regional trade shows and local factory events as needed.
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Full‑cycle talent management, including interviewing, hiring, and training new employees.
  • Performance management, including planning and directing work, appraising performance, and providing feedback.
  • Employee relations, including addressing complaints and resolving issues in accordance with corporate policies and applicable laws.
Qualifications
  • Experience:

    Prior supervisory experience within a manufacturing environment is desired. Previous sales experience in manufactured or modular housing is a significant asset.
  • Technical

    Skills:

    Must have a working knowledge of CRM such as Salesforce and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Travel:
    Willingness and ability to travel up to 50% of the time.
