Director of Sales and Catering

Escape Lodging is seeking an experienced and motivated Director of Sales & Catering to join the opening team at Marriott AC Retreat McMinnville, a beautifully designed Marriott hotel on the Evergreen campus in McMinnville, Oregon, scheduled to open in May 2027.

This is an exciting opportunity to help establish the hotel’s presence in the community and build a successful sales and catering program from the ground up.

The Director of Sales & Catering will be responsible for creating and implementing sales strategies to drive revenue, building relationships with corporate and leisure clients, and growing the hotel’s catering and event business. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated hospitality professional with a strong background in hotel sales and catering who enjoys identifying new business opportunities, building lasting relationships, and delivering exceptional guest experiences.

• Develop and implement sales strategies to drive room revenue, group bookings, and catering business.
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities through prospecting, networking, and relationship building.
• Establish and maintain relationships with corporate accounts, local businesses, event planners, travel partners, and community organizations.
• Conduct property tours, client meetings, and sales presentations to promote the hotel’s accommodations, amenities, and event offerings.
• Prepare proposals, negotiate contracts, and manage group and event bookings.
• Establish and maintain a strong presence within the McMinnville community and surrounding markets.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and sales performance to identify opportunities for growth.

• Lead catering sales efforts, including prospecting, booking, and coordinating meetings, private events, and group functions.
• Work closely with the Food & Beverage team to develop catering packages, menus, and event offerings.
• Serve as a primary point of contact for catering clients throughout the sales and planning process.
• Prepare event proposals, contracts, and banquet event orders (BEOs), ensuring accurate communication of client expectations.
• Coordinate with hotel operations and Food & Beverage teams to ensure seamless event execution.
• Identify opportunities to maximize catering revenue while maintaining high standards of service and guest satisfaction.

• Develop and maintain sales goals, forecasts, and action plans in collaboration with hotel leadership.
• Track sales activity, leads, bookings, and revenue performance.
• Maintain accurate client records, contracts, and sales pipeline information.
• Work with hotel leadership and revenue management to support occupancy, average daily rate (ADR), and overall revenue goals.
• Participate in budgeting, forecasting, and regular sales performance meetings.

• Assist in developing and implementing the hotel’s pre-opening sales and marketing strategy.
• Build relationships with prospective clients and community partners prior to opening.
• Develop a pipeline of corporate, group, and catering business to support the hotel’s launch.
• Collaborate with hotel leadership to establish sales procedures, packages, and promotional initiatives.
• Represent Marriott AC Retreat McMinnville at networking events, community functions, and other promotional opportunities.

• 3–5 years of hotel sales experience, preferably in a full-service, upscale, or Marriott-branded hotel environment.
• Previous catering sales and event coordination experience required.
• Proven ability to generate new business, develop client relationships, and achieve sales goals.
