Extrusion Process Technician

• Retrieve the list of molds and materials from File Maker to run for the day.
• Attend daily shift meeting led by shift supervisor.
• Keep efficiency of all Extrusion machines at or above 80%.
• Investigate root causes of severe process shifts and take appropriate corrective action to bring process back within specifications.
• Stage next job at press at least 3 hours before the current run is over.
• Ensure all components for next job are functioning properly and are ready to run; if they are not, notify supervisor immediately.
• Change over mold with help from setup tech in a timely fashion (should be less than 3 hours).
• Startup of jobs as required in a timely manner.
• Arrive 30 minutes before shift to start required presses for the day and to discuss possible issues with previous shift’s Process Technician.
• Implement lean manufacturing methods.
• Troubleshoot and evaluate thermoforming and assembly processes and make the necessary adjustments to ensure prescribed quality and production standards are achieved and maintained.
• Thermoforming set-up, processing, identifying process issues.
• Ensure all paperwork is completed, providing timely, detailed information in end of shift note to other supervisors, managers and departments.
• Manage File Maker so it reflects what tools are staged, completed, and running at all times.
• Adhere to all company policies and procedures (i.e., quality policy manual, employee handbook, lock out/Tag out, etc.).
• Comply with all internal and OSHA required safety procedures.
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping in all areas of the facility.

• 5-10 years-experience in supervisory capacity.
• High School graduate or equivalent
• Employee must have a valid driver’s license.
• 5s and lean manufacturing education/practice.
• Employee must have obtained a crane license and Hi-Lo license from Poly Flex Products.
• Employee must possess general math and literary skills. Some experience with Microsoft Excel and Word software would be helpful but may not be required.
• Extrusion set-up, processing, identifying process issues.
• Extrusion machine diagnosis for trouble.
• Assembly background preferred with at least 3 years in a supervisory capacity.
• Completion of Poly Flex training requirements for the position as assigned.

Pay rate to start at $25-$30 per hour
