Entry level position to adjust first and third‑party casualty claims involving complex losses.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Complete the claims training program through classroom study, hands‑on training, and independent study. The program lasts approximately six months, but timing is determined on a case‑by‑case basis.
- Investigate, evaluate, and conclude casualty claims of a complex nature. Adjustments of losses in excess of $5,000 are required.
- Show aptitude for first and third‑party claims.
- Collaborate with teammates to effectively navigate claim processes.
- Investigate and evaluate coverage issues.
- Consistently support company, departmental, and managerial decisions by positively interpreting, applying, and communicating company information and policies to employees, agents, and customers.
- Perform special projects as assigned.
- Coachable and willing to learn from constructive criticism.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Sound judgement and problem‑solving abilities.
- Excellent computer literacy.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business reports, company manuals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to present information effectively and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; associate’s degree considered. Work experience in the property/casualty insurance industry preferred but not required.
- Demonstrated desire to learn shown through completion of various IIA/CPCU or other recognized industry courses is desired.
- Continued learning through additional courses may be required by the Manager.
