Job Description SummaryResponsible for prepping machines for shift start up and/or product change; operating auxiliary equipment to produce various types and sizes of manufactured products while ensuring quality and production goals are met; performing troubleshooting on equipment as needed.
Responsibilities- Proficient in all Operator I & II job description requirements
- Monitor and operate processing equipment for production with minimal supervision
- Assist higher-level operators
- Use measuring equipment to ensure quality specifications are met
- Assist in training lower-level operators
- Operate material handling and processing equipment for production and/or replenishment of raw materials
- Update CIP boards in the shop floor management system when necessary
- Identify malfunctions with equipment controls and assist with repairs
- Communicate with process and tooling technicians to assist with equipment and root cause analysis
- Perform basic preventative maintenance on equipment
- Visually check workstations for supply levels; pull supplies from stocking areas
- Transport materials to and from workstations using material handling equipment
- Notify supervisor or material handler when supplies are at reorder levels
- Identify differences in raw material types and part numbers
- Review bill of materials and communicate shortages
- Test and inspect produced products to ensure quality specifications
- Report out-of-spec products to supervision or quality personnel
- Perform non-conforming product procedures when necessary
- Isolate and/or rework items not meeting specifications
- Input accurate data into quality control system
- Identify raw materials that do not meet quality requirements
- 6S activities, workshops, meetings, cross-functional training, etc. (duties not central to the role and shared with others)
- May be required to work different shifts as needed
- May be required to wear assorted PPE for designated work area
Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of basic reading, writing and arithmetic
- Good manual dexterity with small parts
- Ability to perform repetitive functions
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to interpret work orders, instructions, blueprints, and drawings
- Commitment to excellent service and maintaining a positive attitude in interactions
- Adherence to high quality standards while performing at a high level
- High school diploma/equivalent or 6–12 months related experience
