Facilities Maintenance Technician role at McPherson Hospital, Inc.
Job Summary: The Facilities Maintenance Technician performs and completes assigned facility maintenance and improvement tasks throughout the organization’s various physical locations. In addition, this position routinely monitors facility conditions to ensure components are operating at full functionality and within required regulatory guidelines.

- Performs repairs on electrical equipment and machinery and to buildings and facilities, including painting, drywall repairs, carpentry, plumbing, mechanical, and electrical power.
- Repairs woodwork using proper carpentry tools and techniques.
- Prepares surfaces for applying paints, stains, varnish, etc., to carious materials.
- Uses plaster, sheetrock compounds, etc., to maintain buildings.
- Monitors indoor environments of temperature, humidity variances, light outages, and general facility upkeep.
- Keeps work areas orderly, clean, and safe. Ensures proper care in the use of equipment and supplies.
- Ability to learn and understand hospital facility regulatory requirements.
- Participates in educational programs and in-service meetings.
- Monitors and maintains the power plant.
- Performs other duties as requested by the Director of Facilities.
- Completion of Health streams education by designated due date.
- Attends required staff/department/organization’s meetings.
- Demonstrates strong, clear communication skills.
- Upholds the C.A.R.E. Values of McPherson Center for Health.
- Exhibits professionalism at all times.
- Maintains confidentiality as required by HIPAA regulations.
- Participates in the professional development of self and team members.
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 3 year’s experience in a facility maintenance position preferred.
- Valid current Driver’s License
Hazardous Working Conditions: OSHA Category 1
Environmental Surroundings: Located in an environment with regular exposure to fumes or odors, temperature extremes, or loud noises which cause noticeable discomfort or moderate risk of accident or illness.
Physical Working Conditions: Sitting in the same location or standing/walking; required to stoop, climb, or lift moderate to heavy weight (50 lbs. or greater).
