The Community Outreach and Client Support Coordinator is responsible for assisting individuals experiencing homelessness and other vulnerable populations to access housing, employment opportunities, community resources, and support services.
The successful candidate will build positive relationships with clients while helping them overcome barriers and work toward stability and independence.
Responsibilities- Connect clients with housing providers, landlords, employers, training programs, healthcare services, income supports, addiction services, and other community resources.
- Assist clients with resumes, job applications, obtaining identification, and navigating various support systems.
- Conduct regular follow-up with clients to monitor progress and provide ongoing encouragement and advocacy.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with community organizations, government agencies, employers, landlords, Indigenous organizations, and service providers.
- Represent the organization at meetings and community events to strengthen partnerships and create opportunities that benefit clients.
- Maintain accurate client files, document client interactions, prepare reports, track outcomes, and provide regular progress updates to the Executive Director.
- Excellent communication, writing, and organizational skills.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and data management systems.
- Strong conflict resolution, crisis intervention, and problem-solving skills while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality.
- Experience working with vulnerable populations, homelessness, housing services, employment programs, or community outreach is considered an asset.
- Demonstrated ability to work with Indigenous communities and diverse populations.
