Summary
Operate both robotic and manual welding equipment to attach tanks or other parts to the core in accordance with blueprint instructions. This role requires proficiency in MIG and TIG welding processes and robotic welding operations while maintaining quality, safety, and production standards.

Minimum Qualifications- Completion of a formal trade school program with a welding concentration, apprenticeship program, and/or on-the-job training by welding trainer and robot trainer at AKG North American Operations, Inc.
- Must be available and able to work the agreed upon shift and work overtime when required.
- Ability to read and understand detailed blueprint instructions and work orders.
- Must have great attention to detail.
- Ability to read a tape measure using the metric system.
- Familiarity with robotic welding equipment and welding gun setup.
Manufacturing/warehouse environment
Essential Functions- Operate welding equipment (manual and robotic) to perform welding operations according to blueprints.
- Set up robotic welding equipment, clean debris off the gun, and replace gun parts when needed.
- Read and interpret detailed blueprints and work instructions.
- Perform MIG and/or TIG welding depending on job requirement.
- Move cores and tanks using a chain hoist or pallet jack as needed.
- Perform welds on additional parts per blueprint requirements.
- Conduct quality checks on each cooler or part after welding is complete.
- Provide and receive feedback from the test tank team regarding leaks and defects.
- Meet production quotas and standard times provided by the Lead or Supervisor.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Collaborate with other welders across all shifts to meet productivity and quality goals.
- Update production sheets, cell performance boards, and any data collection system in use.
- Perform preventative maintenance on robotic welding machines as needed.
- Report any issues to the Supervisor or designated personnel immediately.
- Adhere to all policies, procedures, and/or requirements set forth in AKG’s environmental management system (EMS).
- Must be able to stand (95%) and walk (5%) of the time.
- May be required to bend, stoop, pull, push, twist and turn.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to use a pallet jack, chain hoist, and welding equipment.
- Must wear safety equipment such as steel toe shoes, safety glasses and hearing protection. Safety glasses and hearing protection are provided.
