Responsibilities- Utilize strong organizational and leadership skills to assess patient status.
- Determine the priority of the patient’s problems and needs.
- Implement clinical nursing interventions for acute, critical patients requiring intensive medical care.
- Develop and perform patient care plans to enhance and improve outcomes.
- Ensure a safe and therapeutic environment.
- In collaboration with the interdisciplinary care team, conduct initial and ongoing patient assessments and demonstrate basic knowledge of contemporary nursing practice.
- Provide pediatric nursing care for episodic (outpatient) and inpatient care where applicable.
- Apply knowledge of contemporary pediatric nursing practice and future innovations.
- Evaluate, update and revise plans of care to achieve planned outcomes.
- Administer medications safely in line with practice standards and organizational policies.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred but not required.
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
- BLS Basic Life Support or PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support (preferred at hire; must obtain from approved source prior to direct patient care; PALS required within 6 months of hire based on departmental requirements).
- One (1) year of professional experience practicing as an RN.
- Recent Medical/Surgical, NICU, Pediatric, OB, ED or critical care experience is preferred but not required.
- EPIC Electronic Health Record training (preferred but not required).
