ALL ABOUT ON DEMAND

You can work as much or as little as you like as an On-Demand Team Member (TM) and your schedule may vary depending on shift availability and store needs. This role is ideal for those looking for a personalized work schedule. As an On-Demand TM, you will not be included on the posted weekly schedule, but you may create your own schedule by picking up shifts posted by leaders or other team members (via our myTime mobile scheduling app).

When you pick up a shift, reliable and prompt attendance is necessary. You must respond to our attempts to contact you to confirm interest in working shifts. If you do not respond, employment may be terminated. If you do not work at least one shift within 5 months, your employment may be administratively terminated. You will be required to attend a Target Welcome orientation and commit to a short-term training schedule.

After that, the myTime app is used to pick up shifts.

ALL ABOUT SERVICE & ENGAGEMENT

Advocates of guest experience who welcome, thank, and exceed guest service expectations by focusing on guest interaction, loyalty enrollment, store cleanliness, and delivering services and solutions that drive adoption and loyalty. You will be empowered to make shopping quick and easy for guests at the checklanes, guest services, gift registry, pick-up and drive up while ensuring quality.

As a Guest Advocate, you will have the opportunity to develop skills such as:

  • Communicating and interacting with guests to build an inclusive guest experience
  • Blending problem solving and decision making to positively impact the guest experience
  • Adapting to different guest interactions and situations
  • Promoting and engaging around benefits, offerings and services
Typical responsibilities
  • Demonstrate a service culture that prioritizes the guest experience by delivering the service standard
  • Create a welcoming experience by greeting guests while completing daily tasks
  • Assist guests to solve their specific needs in a welcoming manner
  • Be knowledgeable about store tools, products, and services to resolve issues and improve guest experience
  • Thank guests and acknowledge their choice to shop at Target
  • Scan and bag items efficiently and in compliance with food safety standards
  • Minimize guest wait time while maintaining service and accuracy
  • Inform guests about current and upcoming brand launches, store activities, and events
  • Explain Target Loyalty programs and assist with enrollment; be familiar with fulfillment services
  • Explain and demonstrate how to use Wallet and other Target App features
  • Handle returns following store policies and escalate as needed
  • De-escalate situations with leadership support as needed
  • Provide accurate service for Order Pick Up, Drive Up, and Registry guests
  • Maintain a clean, clutter-free work area
  • Stock supplies during store hours and be available for guests
  • Uphold safety, ethics, and compliance
  • Support guest services such as order pickup and drive-up while complying with applicable laws
  • Assist with Cash Office processes as needed
  • Perform other duties based on business needs
