Campus Security Officer
OverviewRichard Bland College (RBC) is a two-year residential liberal arts institution preparing students for transfer to highly-ranked colleges and universities. The College is located outside the Tri-Cities region, featuring 750+ acres of wetlands, bucolic forest, and the state’s oldest and largest pecan grove.
ResponsibilitiesCampus Security Officers provide a uniformed presence on campus to promote lawful behavior and protect the safety of students, faculty, staff, and visitors.
Responsibilities include:
- Control building access and register guests
- Monitor security cameras and patrol buildings and parking lots
- Report safety hazards and suspicious or criminal activity to campus police
- Enforce Richard Bland College and the Department of Campus Safety and Police policies and regulations
- US citizen or legal resident
- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
- At least 18 years of age at appointment
- Valid driver’s license at appointment
- Proficient with personal computer and current software programs, including fire alarm systems, security alarm systems, and video surveillance systems
- Current DCJS Certification as a Campus Security Officer
- Extensive knowledge and experience in the security field
- First Aid, CPR and AED training certification
- Completion of Incident Command System for Higher Education (IS-100) course by FEMA
- Demonstrated leadership experience, qualities, and capabilities
