The prospective candidate will collaborate with teachers, administrators, parents, and other professionals to create a safe, healthy, productive, and supportive learning environment for all. The school psychologist will evaluate students and write psychological evaluation reports to determine eligibility for special education services. Evaluations may include FBA’s, Classroom Needs Assessments, and other specialized assessments. The school psychologist will evaluate students as to risk to self and/or others and provide consultation to administrators and school teams regarding such evaluations as necessary.
Duties may include administration of universal screening tools, including data management and progress monitoring to guide the individual, classroom, and school-wide program planning. Knowledge of special education laws and regulations that govern the identification of students with disabilities, including English Language Learner students, is essential to this position. Ability to provide effective consultation to school personnel on identification and intervention strategies for students with academic and/or social/emotional/behavior-related concerns is critical.
This position includes provision of counseling services and facilitation of social skills groups to support therapeutic programming for students who present with social-emotional disabilities, as well as at‑risk general education students.
- Degree Preferred:
Master - Experience Preferred: 3 Years
- Applicant must hold an active Massachusetts School Psychologist license.
- A Massachusetts Health Professional license: LICSW, LMHC is preferred.
