Teacher Assistant - Eliot Pearson Children's School

Overview

The Eliot-Pearson Children's School is the laboratory-demonstration school affiliated with the Eliot-Pearson Department of Child Study and Human Development at Tufts University. The school serves as a model and demonstration facility, providing a training and observation site for new and experienced teachers and a research facility for faculty and supervised students in the Department of Child Study and Human Development. The Children's School enrolls approximately 65 children.

It has preschool and PreK-K and Kindergarten to first grade classes that vary in length and frequency.

The Assistant Teacher supports head teachers in providing a high-quality, inclusive education and care for children in the preschool classrooms. The position will:

• Facilitate teaching and learning opportunities for children and families at the school and ensure their health and safety.
• Support the classroom team in working with children 3-6 years old and also fulfill a state-required teacher-child ratio and practices at the school.

Basic Requirements:

• Knowledge and experience typically acquired by an Associate's Degree and 2-3 years related experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree

Minimum $19.20, Midpoint $22.50, Maximum $25.90

Salary is based on related experience, expertise, and internal equity; generally, new hires can expect pay between the minimum and midpoint of the range.
