Chief Engineer – Hyatt Place Medford

Join Our Team at Hyatt Place Medford, a Colwen Hotels property. We’re looking for a hands‑on, people‑focused Chief Engineer to lead our property’s maintenance operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead & Mentor: train the maintenance team in safety, accountability, and teamwork.
  • Oversee daily maintenance and repair of hotel systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, life safety).
  • Drive the preventative maintenance program to ensure guest satisfaction and asset protection.
  • Troubleshoot system malfunctions and ensure compliance with OSHA and local regulations.
  • Work with vendors, contractors, and inspectors to maintain quality and regulatory compliance.
  • Manage maintenance budget, capital projects, and vendor contracts.
  • Hands‑on support: troubleshoot issues and work alongside the team.
Qualifications
  • Preferred experience in hotel or related field.
  • Proven leadership style that communicates clearly and builds trust.
  • Strong technical knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire protection, and life safety.
  • 3+ years of maintenance management or supervisory experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and standard computer programs.
  • Flexibility to work a rotating schedule, including weekends and holidays.

Compensation

Salary Range: $75,000 – $85,000.
Hiring Bonus: $1,000 (50% after 3 months, 50% after 6 months) subject to applicable tax with holdings.
