Under direct supervision, assist clinicians with routine clinical procedures and tests in the exam room. Advise patients of preparation and testing required for exams. Ensure all pre‑visit work required for exam is completed and that lab and other test results are available in the electronic medical record (EMR). Deliver excellent customer service and strengthen the patient/clinician relationship through timely and informative interactions with the patients.
Improve clinical operations and efficiencies by providing efficient flow of patients. Provide clinical and clerical support to the practice and clinicians related to patient care. May provide direct clinical support to one or more assigned clinicians.
- High School diploma or equivalency certificate (e.g., GED, HiSET, TASC Test) from an accredited institution or governmental unit or a Medical Assistant Certification required.
- Associate degree in medical assisting or graduate of medical assistant certification program preferred.
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) strongly preferred.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) may be required based on specialty.
- Minimum of one year of prior experience in a clinical or customer service setting; a bachelor’s or associate degree may substitute for experience.
- Computer experience required with the ability to use word processing and spreadsheet programs.
- Electronic medical record (EMR) experience or aptitude to master the EMR based on other technology experience required.
- Able to communicate in a professional and appropriate manner.
- Strong interpersonal, customer service, time management, and organizational skills required.
- Ability to prioritize work throughout the day in a busy environment.
The hourly range for this role is $19.80 to $28.29 per hour based on full‑time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. Atrius Health complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
