Pay RangeBase pay: $1,362.69–$1,622.95 per week. Salary is paid from a 5‑year grant until September 29, 2030.
Position OverviewThe Regional Prevention Strategist will devote 50% of time to directing the Malden & Medford Partnerships for Success (PFS) grant, overseeing its implementation and ensuring alignment with grant objectives. They will also lead the Malden & Medford Collaborative, and support regional prevention efforts across seven communities in the Mystic Valley Public Health Coalition via a Bureau of Substance Abuse Services MassCALL3B regional grant.
Responsibilities include managing the Strategic Prevention Framework—conducting assessments, building capacity, implementing evidence‑based prevention strategies, evaluating outcomes, and developing sustainable, competency solutions.
- Serve as Project Director for the Partnerships for Success Grant for the Cities of Malden & Medford, overseeing its implementation and ensuring alignment with grant objectives.
- Coordinate assessments, capacity building, planning, implementation, and evaluation efforts with the Project Evaluator; oversee collection and dissemination of related data.
- Provide capacity building, oversight, and Strategic Prevention Framework to the Malden (Malden Opioid Task Force) and Medford (Behavioral Health Commission/Medford Connects) coalitions.
- Collaborate and build relationships with businesses, ethnic communities, faith‑based organizations, local government, and youth in Malden & Medford.
- Work closely with Mystic Valley Public Health Coalition prevention and outreach staff and local coalitions across seven communities.
- Communicate regularly with all stakeholders participating in the MVPHC coalition/collaborative.
- Oversee development and refinement of a MVPHC regional strategic plan and individual municipalities strategic plans annually, with oversight of project plans.
- Provide budget oversight of the Partnerships for Success grant, including federal financial reporting.
- Compile statistics and productivity reports, collaborating with evaluators to submit bi‑annual federal reports and quarterly state reports.
- Maintain knowledge of current skills and technology.
- Prepare required reports in compliance with state requirements to support the Board of Health and maintain departmental files.
- Interface with statewide and national colleagues.
- Attend appropriate meetings and professional development opportunities.
- Maintain office hours.
- Perform similar or related work as required or as directed by the Director of Public Health.
- Bachelor’s degree in public health or a related field with 5 years of professional experience in program management, administration, coordination, planning, or analysis.
- Master’s degree in public health or related field with 3 years of experience is advantageous.

Wednesday 8:30 AM – 7:30 PM;
Friday 8:30 AM – 12:30 PM.
Salary: CAF 11 ($1,362.69 – $1,622.95 per week). Salary is paid from a 5‑year grant until September 29 , 2030.
