The General Counselor position is responsible for supporting the supervision of campers in a small group setting provided by the Head Counselor.

This announcement is not meant to be an exhaustive list of all functions, responsibilities and qualifications, but represents the essential job functions and typical criteria necessary for success in the role.

• Assist the Head Counselor with the general safety and supervision of campers in the assigned group.
• Assist Activity Directors during activity periods on an as‑needed basis.
• Be assigned to a different age group each week to learn to work with a variety of campers and staff.
• Supervise and participate in all aspects of the campers’ day, including check‑in and check‑out, meal times, activities, and extended AM and PM duties as assigned.
• Attend and participate in one week of General Staff Training.
• Be 18 years of age or older.
• Have knowledge of child supervision and safety.
• Possess leadership skills that encourage and motivate campers.
• Ability to teach songs, games, stories, sports and other related skills is preferred.
• Show enthusiasm, dedication, responsibility and maturity.
