Position Overview

The Special Events Director assists the Camp Director and Assistant Camp Director in developing and implementing the Special Events camp program, ensuring smooth daily operations and risk management.

Responsibilities
  • Assist the Program Director with daily operations and scheduling changes.
  • Directly implement all Special Events, including evening programs.
  • Assist with choice activities.
  • Ensure adequate inventory for all program areas.
  • Assist with Framework implementation.
  • Assist with the Trading Post.
  • Assist with Tractor Rides.
  • Coordinate Special Events with the Camp Director, Assistant Program Directors, and other leadership staff.
  • Supervise and participate in campers’ day activities, including check‑in/out, mealtimes and activities.
  • Attend and participate in Administration Staff Training and All Staff Training.
Qualifications
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Bachelor’s of Science or Arts in Recreation, Physical Education, Education, or related field is preferred (or working toward degree).
  • Leadership skills to support daily camp operations.
  • Knowledge of daily camp program operations, staff and camper supervision.
  • Knowledge of safety, equipment care, inventory, skill instruction, and age‑appropriate programming.
  • Ability to teach songs, crafts, games, stories, sports, and related skills.
  • Enthusiasm, dedication, responsibility, maturity, and clear communication with campers, parents, and staff.
