Overview
The Lifeguard/ Cabin Counselor is responsible for the daily operation of the waterfront, including the cabin safety and supervision of swimmers. Lifeguard/ Cabin Counselor leads and lives in a cabin of up to 7 campers. The Lifeguard/Cabin Counselor role is a safety sensitive position.

Responsibilities- Provide instruction, supervision, and safety of all campers, staff and volunteers in waterfront area and cabins.
- Assist campers with achieving their goals.
- Responsible for supervision in waterfront and water inflatables.
- Create, plan, and implement age-appropriate boating lesson plans (if applicable).
- Plan and implement age-appropriate swim lessons. Develop weekly lesson plans to be approved by Aquatics Director.
- Ensure adequate supplies and resources are available.
- Supervise and participate in all assigned aspects of the campers’ day which includes but is not limited. to; camper check-in and check-out; mealtimes; and before/after-hours duties as assigned.
- Attend and participate in Lifeguard Training and All Staff Training.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Lifeguarding experience required.
- Must possess current certifications in lifeguarding Waterfront Module and professional CPR and First Aid;
Waterfront Safety Instruction preferred. - Have knowledge in the safety, skill instruction and ability to understand emergency procedures in a waterfront setting.
- Must show enthusiasm, dedication, responsibility and maturity and have the ability to interact and communicate clearly with campers, parents and staff.
